How to get there

 

Cusco, also known as Cuzco, is the gateway to Machu Picchu. You can hike the Inca Trail, or take a train and bus to get to Machu Picchu. The easiest way to get to the legendary city is to take a train though there is not a train station in Machu Picchu itself. The nearest train station is in the nearby town of Aguas Calientes. Regular buses run between Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. If you love nature and countryside, taking the Vistadome train is the best way to explore the Andean world like you have never experienced it before.

 

 

The vast majority of trains to Machu Picchu actually depart from Ollantaytambo. The Vistadome departs from Ollantaytambo and arrives at Machu Picchu Pueblo. It is recommended to secure your train tickets before you make your plans to visit Machu Picchu.
